  • Arundina graminifolia

  • It is a naturalized ornamental garden plant which is native to tropical Asia.

  • The orchid stems can grow to 2 meters tall, and the flowers are at the very top of each stem.

  • The flowers are whitish-pink with a purple-to-pink lip.

  • Like all orchid flowers, it has an outer whorl of 3 sepals and an inner whorl of 3 petals, The petals and sepals generally look so much alike that in the orchid world both sepals and petals are called tepals.

  • It is a terrestrial, perennial orchid with reedy cane-like stems.

  • The name comes from its thin, tall stem with alternating leaves appearing like a bamboo stem.
